This is a retirement community and the very last move for many residents.
Once the Nuclear Capital of The World , it always will be where the remnants of Uranium
mines and tailings leave their trace for millenniums to come . Where Quirk mines was , is above the Dunlop Lake watershed and water flows south. Elliot Lake and The Serpent River water ways
will not be immune from any spill overs.Horne Lake was slated for the sewage disposal for years
and it flows into Elliot Lake where the best of the shoreline is occupied by the municipal garage.
Some problems have been resolved and some will never be
If cottage life appeals to you ,do your homework , easy to get into it but difficult to get out
and the taxes can consume you.
I am very partial to suggesting alternatives "Go North , further North !"
Live well eat well fish well.... Avoid Elliot Lake like the plague , like a cancer
...of course I am spewing sour grapes....
resident since 1955 , I saw it boom and crash flushed and reflushed with recycled funds !!!!
